Hot Springs, Ark. - The Missouri Southern men's golf team completed day two at the Battle for the Belt. After competing in three rounds at Hot Springs Country Club, which holds a par of 72, the Lions tied for 11th with a total score of 898.
Ben Marckmann had a fantastic round one with a score of 69 (-3). Marckmann would finish tied for 30th individually with a total score of 221 (+5).
Connor Goens also had a solid day one, shooting a 147 (+3) over the first two rounds. Gowns would finish tied for 37th.
Blake Heimburger finished one stroke behind Goens with a total score of 225 (+9) to tie for 39th.
Owen Derryberry would finish tied for 53rd with a total score of 229 (+13).
Carson Stookey shot a total score of 235 (+19) to finish tied for 64th.

Men's golf will be back in action on October 7-8 as they travel to St. Joseph, Mo. to compete in the Holiday Inn Express Invitational at St. Joseph Country Club.
