Joplin, Mo. – The Missouri Southern volleyball team placed three individuals on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team as the organization announced the award yesterday. Honorees are selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizing the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
 
To be nominated for this award, a student-athlete must be considered one of the most outstanding at their institution, based on the following criteria - at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, participated in at least 90 percent of the team's games, and has attained at least sophomore academic status.
 
Hannah Allick, Fernanda Canedo, and Kyla Randall all earned honors for the Lions. Allick currently posts a 3.70 GPA with a major in Art Education, Canedo boasts 3.70 GPA in Management, and Randall is majoring in Healthcare Administration with a 3.53 GPA.
 
All-District honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, of which Canedo and Randall were advanced to.
