Lexington, Ky. – The Missouri Southern volleyball program has once again been recognized with the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, the organization announced today.
The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale.
This is the 13
th time the Lions have won the honor, and the eighth year in a row for the program. Southern maintained a 3.542 GPA over the 2021-22 academic year with 82 percent of the student-athletes maintaining a 3.00 GPA or higher.
"I am so proud of the hard work the team put into the classroom this past year, said head coach
Kalie Mader. "It says a lot about who these young women are."
