Wichita, Kan. -- Missouri Southern women's track and field athlete
Claire Luallen took home the title in the heptathlon as she competed at the KT Woodman Classic hosted by Wichita State at Cessna Field today.
Luallen was sitting in first coming into day two, having won two events and placed second in two others. She finished with a point total of 5,036 in the event, good enough for an NCAA Provisional Qualifying mark and 55 points off of the MSSU school record in the event. The point total ranks eighth nationally.
Luallen won the long jump to start the day as she leaped to a distance of 19-02.75, good enough for an NCAA Provisional Qualifying mark in that event. She then placed fourth in the javelin and third in the 800m to round out the day.
The Lions will be back in action as a full team tomorrow as Southern will compete at the 2021 Outdoor Mule Relays hosted by Central Missouri. Field events will begin at 1 pm, while running events will start at 4 pm. Live results will be available and can be accessed by going to
