St. Charles, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern baseball team went down 4-0 early, but stormed back and won 12-7 today in the opening game of the series at Lindenwood.

Southern (8-4, 1-0 MIAA) got a huge day at the plate from Richie Gorski as the senior went 4-4 with a home run, a triple, three RBIs and four runs scored. Gorski was just a double shy of the cycle. Tyler Sutherland and Max Hogan both had a pair of hits, two RBIs and a run scored, while Todd Hinkley had two hits and a run scored.

Lindenwood (6-5, 0-1 MIAA) had a 3-5 day with three RBIs for Wes Degener.

Southern went down 4-0 early, but MSSU scored two runs in each of the third and fourth innings, while plating a single run in the fourth and fifth to tie the game at 6-6. Three runs in each of the eighth and ninth innings secured the win for the Lions.
