St. Joseph, Mo. -- Alicia Pickett hit .467 and had seven kills, but the Missouri Southern volleyball team couldn't stop a hot-hitting Missouri Western squad and the Lions fell three sets to none tonight. Individual set scores were 18-25, 11-25 and 12-25.
The Lions (4-19, 1-9 MIAA) were led by Pickett's night with seven kills, .467 attack average and two blocks.
Bailey Rexford had four kills, while
Whitney Harrison dished out eight assists.
Kat Gries had a team-high five digs.
Western (13-9, 5-5 MIAA) was led by 11 kills from Ashley Mainord.
The Griffons never trailed in the match as Western hit .453 on the night.
The Lions will be back in action tomorrow as Southern will take on No. 17 Northwest Missouri. First serve is slated for 3 pm.
