2017 - Gries played in 28 matches with three starts ... finished the season with 237 digs and a 2.49 digs per set average, third on the team in that category ... had ten double-figure dig matches with her season high of 20 coming against Lindenwood. 

2016 - Played in all 31 matches and 105 sets (team leader) in her rookie campaign...Ended the season first on the team in digs (318) and service aces (22), which finishing fourth in assists (46)...Recorded a season-hight 27 digs vs Northwestern Oklahoma (4th career-match); registered 26 digs vs West Alabama for a pair of over 20-dig performances... Served a season-hight five aces at Panhandle State.  

Prior to Southern - A four-year letter winner as a setter, Gries holds the HHS record for most assists in a season ... She was an All-District pick four times, while earning All-Region MVP and All-Section honors as a senior ... She was a four-time All-State pick. Gries helped the Mustangs to a fourth-place finish in the state volleyball tournament in each of her junior and senior seasons ... Academically, Gries was a member of the National Honor Society and completed the Houston High School Honors Academy. 

Personal - The daughter of Mark Gries and Tracey May, Kat plans to major in industrial engineering and technology at Southern.
