Joplin, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern men's track and field team picked up a pair of provisional makrs today in day one of the 2015 MSSU Open on Mercy Track inside the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
Bryan Burns picked up a provisional and finished second in the weight throw tossing the weight a distance of 56-04.75. Nicklas Polizzi finished sixth in the event with a distance of 52-02.00.
Jeff Fraley qualified first and picked up a provisional in the prelims of the 60m dash in a time of 6.79. Erron Holley just missed out on qualifying for the finals of the event, running a 7.09 in his leg of the prelims.
Jacob Rowe placed second in the long jump with a distance of 22-08.50. Desmond Williams was third, while Kennan Harrison placed fourth, putting three Lions in the top four of the event. Darion Boure was tenth, while Garner Rudroff placed 11th.
The distance medley relay team of Yvonel Adams, Miles Migliara, Thomas Hawkins and Ben Southwick placed fourth in the event, running a time of 10:44.91. In the 200m, Holley placed fifth in a time of 22.59, while Anthony Price was seventh in a time of 22.71.
The Lions will finish off the meet tomorrow with events beginning at 10:30 am.
