Men's cross country finishes 19th at 2013 NCAA Division II Championships

Spokane, Wash. -- The Missouri Southern men's cross country team placed 19th today at the 2013 NCAA Division II National Championships held at Plantes Ferry Sports Complex in Spokane today. 

Southern junior Eric Schott traversed the 10k course and placed 69th individually with a time of 31:45.3. Senior Jake Benton placed 103rd with a time of 32:19.9, while Adrian Todd was 131st with a time of 32:38.8. 

Colton Wooldridge was 137th with a time of 32:39.9, while Ryan Jackson placed 184th in a time of 33:18.8. Tyler Rush and Andrew Webster placed 211th and 225th, respectively, with times of 34:00.3 and 34:34.00. 

A total of 248 runners ran in the race and 32 teams competed overall. Adams State ran away with its fourth title in the last five years and Grand Valley State was second. Nebraska-Kearney (17th) and Central Missouri (21st) were the MIAA teams also racing. 

The MSSU track and field teams will be off until Dec. 5 and 6 when the Lions open up indoor season at Central Missouri.
