INDIANAPOLIS — Jaden Deaton and
Chase Sorrell will represent Missouri Southern men's cross country at the 2025 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships, the NCAA Division II Cross Country Committee announced Monday.
The pair were named selections and will compete at the 2025 NCAA Division II Men's Cross Country Championship Saturday, Nov. 22 at Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin. University of Wisconsin-Parkside will serve as the host. The women's race will begin at 10 a.m., CT followed by the men's race at 11:15 a.m.

www.NCAA.com from 10 a.m., CT until the conclusion of the awards ceremony.
Thirty-four teams were selected to participate in each Championship (men's and women's). The top three, seven-person teams automatically qualified from each of the eight regions, for a total of 24 teams. Ten additional teams were selected at-large. A minimum of 24 additional individuals were selected to participate in each Championship through an automatic qualifier and at-large selection process.
Deaton and Sorrell both finished in the top-25 at the 2025 NCAA Central Region Championship on Nov. 8 in Joplin, Missouri.
Deaton, a senior from Poplar Bluff, Missouri, was the sixth fastest man at the Central Region, clocking in at 30:38.56 in the 10K.
Sorrell, a sophomore from Neosho, Missouri, placed #18 in the 10K with a personal-best 31:15.14.
Deaton and Sorrell along with
Lilah Genel earned 2025 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region honors Monday for their performances at the 2025 NCAA Central Championship on Nov. 8.
Genel, a senior from Springfield, Missouri, crossed the finish in 21:42.49 for 20th in the 2025 NCAA Central Region Championship women's 6K race.
Athletes were awarded the distinction of All-Region by virtue of a top-25 finish at one of the eight regional sites this past weekend. Only athletes from USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.
