Prior to Southern: Stokes played his freshman campaign at MIAA member Lincoln University where he started in 21 of the 26 games the team played, averaging 29.1 minutes per game and scoring 8.4 points per contest ... he averaged 2.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 35 percent from long rang and 71 percent from the free-throw line ... Stokes prepped at Joplin High School where he had an impressive senior season, averaging 14.8 ppg, making 141-of-313 field goals ... he went 70-of-173 from behind the arc, averaging 6.0 rpg, 2.1 apg, and 25 steals… Named a two-time All-Area, All-Ozark Conference and Academic All-Conference teams, while being named to the Ralph Miller All-Tournament Team three times and was a two-year captain.
