2024 - Kihega redshirted

2023 - At the Chile Pepper Festival, ran a personal best in the 5k with a time of 19:14.4m on Sept 30 ... Ran a personal best in the 6k at the MIAA Championships with a time of 23:42.7 on Oct 20.

2022 - Ran a personal best time in the 4k with a time of 15:26.0m at the Rogers State Invite on Sept 1 ... Ran a season-best time of 19:17.3 in the 5k at the Chile Pepper Festival on Oct 1.

Prior to Southern
Kihega prepped at Jenks High School, where she competed in both track and cross country for the Trojans. A four-year first-team All-Conference performer in both sports, she was also an All-State selection in cross country. Kihega was part of the Jenks teams that won the State Championship in cross country as a sophomore and in track as a junior and senior.

Personal
Shelby, the daughter of Angela and Kendall Kihega, is pursuing a degree in Occupational Therapy at Southern.
