2025 - Ran in 5 meets. Ran a career best 17:42 5k at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival (10/4/25). Finished 13th (22:14) at the 2025 MIAA Cross Country Championships (10/25/25).
2024 - At the Missouri Western State Griffon Invite, ran a season-best in the 5k with a time of 18:55.9 on Oct 5 ... Ran a season-best in the 6k with a time of 22:37.4 at the NCAA DII Central Region Championships on Nov 9.
2023 - Ran a season-best in the 5k at the Chile Pepper Festival on Sept 30 with a time of 19:34.3 ... At the NCAA DII Championships, ran a personal best in the 6k with a time of 21:53.1 on Nov 18.
Prior to Southern
Weems attended Blue Springs High School, earning three varsity letters in cross country and track and field, as well as four varsity letters in swimming. She was a two-time MSHAA All-State honoree in the 4x800 relay in 2022 and 2023. Her personal bests include 18:39 in the 5,000m and 21:53 in the 6,000m for cross country; 10:13 in the 3,000m and 18:01 in the 5,000m for indoor track; and 4:44 in the 1,500m and 17:58 in the 5,000m for outdoor track.

Kyla, the daughter of Lisa and Michael Weems, is pursuing a degree in Literary Studies from Southern.
