Before Southern- Played at Fort Scott CC.Pitched in 21 games totalling 18.1 innings, allowed 15 hits, struckout 19. Finished with a record of 1-1 and an ERA of 2.94

In High School- Played at Galena HS under CoachKen Cook. Started four years as a pitcher, third baseman and rightfielder. During his four year career, Mitch earned four First TeamAll-Conference nods, one All-State nod, and one Joplin GlobeAll-Area honor. Also starred as a guard on the basketball team, alinebacker on the football team and a jumper/sprinter on the trackteam. Earning numerous accolades in those sports as well, includingan appearance in the Shine Bowl (HS football All-Star game) and inthe Army All-Star Game for basketball.
