In 2009: Russell recorded season-highs of 15 kills and a .419 hitting percentage vs. Southeastern Oklahoma on Sept. 12, 15 digs at Central Missouri on Sept. 18, 17 points ve Dallas Baptist on Oct. 3, and five blocks at Washburn on Oct. 6 while starting in 14 of the 19 matches she played for Southern...for the season Russell collected 144 kills while hitting .264, serving percentage of .949, with 108 digs, 24 total blocks and 164 points.
In 2008: Russell was an honorable mention All-MIAA selection as a sophomore after finishing third on the team in kills and second in average ... Had a stellar match against Nebraska-Omaha where she hit .615 with eight kills and non errors ... Had a season high 15 kills against Southwest Baptist.
In 2007: As a redshirt freshmen Russell played in every match and appeared in 115 games ... she also started in 21 of 32 matches ... finished second on the team in almost every offensive category recording 335 kills and averaging 2.91 per game ... was second on the team in points where she averaged 3.33 per game ... on defense she was third in total digs with 262 and fourth with 2.28 per game

In high school: Russell was a three-year varsity starter in volleyball and this season was named conference MVP ... A state qualifier in track & field, she earned volleyball all-district honors three times in her career and was also the all-county volleyball MVP as a junior.
