PITTSBURG, Kan. – Missouri Southern wrapped up competition Sunday at the MIAA Indoor Championships with a third-place finish on the men's side (88.5 points) and a fifth-place finish for the women (65 points). The Lion men finished behind Northwest Missouri State (115) and Pittsburg State (225).

The throws once again powered the Lions. Cedric Pearson captured the MIAA title in the men's shot put with a personal-best and NCAA qualifying mark of 18.80 meters. Jamale Williams (3rd), Lucas Trotter (6th) and Trace Wooldridge (7th) each posted personal-best NCAA qualifying marks to add valuable team points. On the women's side, Dailynn VanDeren won the shot put with an NCAA qualifying mark of 16.55 meters, setting a new meet record. Briar Gillum placed third with a personal-best NCAA mark, while Kirsten Womack added a fourth-place personal-best qualifier.

In the field events, Zeke Galvicius led the men's pole vault with a fourth-place finish and personal-best NCAA qualifying clearance of 5.04 meters, while Travis Greenfield also secured a personal-best NCAA mark. Ayden Walton added points in the men's triple jump.

On the track, Aryah Moore highlighted the day with a third-place finish in the women's 60-meter hurdles, posting a personal-best and NCAA qualifying time of 8.55 seconds. Chase Sorrell finished runner-up in the men's mile, and Jaden Deaton added a third-place performance in the men's 3,000 meters. Ella Fosse recorded another personal-best NCAA qualifying mark in the 400 meters, and the women's 4x400-meter relay closed out the meet with an eighth-place finish.

Missouri Southern now awaits national qualifying selections as the Lions look ahead to the NCAA Indoor Championships.
