Prior to Southern
Brackenbury spent her 2024-25 freshman season at NCAA Division I institution University of Missouri. In cross country, she placed 22nd in the 5k at the Mizzou XC Opener (08/30/24) with a time of 19:13.7. She also took 52nd at the Gans Creek Classic (09/27/24) with a result of 22:50.3 in the 6k. On the track, she competed in two meets. Ran in the 1,500 meters (4:53.25, 35th) and 5,000 meters (18:19.47, 25th) at the Yellow Jacket Invitational (03/21-22/25). Placed fourth in the 3,000 meters (10:30.08) at the SIUE Cougar Classic (4/12/25).

Eight-time All-State in both cross country and track & field at Blue Springs High School.

Personal
Abbey, the daughter of James Brackenbury and Sarah Brackenbury. Has a brother, Ben. Always wears her lucky turtle socks on race day.
