ANDOVER, Kan. — Missouri Southern finished third at the MIAA Designated Fall Event hosted by Newman University at Terradyne Country Club on Tuesday. The Lions shot five-under-par in the final round to finish the tournament at 21-over-par.

Jones Vrska led the Lions with a tie for seventh place at one-over-par. Vrska carded rounds of 72, 72 and 70 to finish the tournament.

Ethan Small tied for 25th at seven-over-par, while Maxwell Templeman and Britten Coy tied for 27th at eight-over-par. Templeman led the team in the final round with a two-under-par 69. Samuel Patterson tied for 39th at 10-over-par.

Competing individually, Zach Gardner tied for 22nd at six-over-par after closing with a one-under-par 70 in the final round.

Missouri Southern improved each round, opening at 16-over-par before shooting 10-over-par in the second round and five-under-par in the final round.
