Joplin, Mo. – The No. 8 seed Missouri Southern baseball team faced off against the No. 4 seed University of Central Oklahoma Bronchos in the 2025 MIAA Baseball Championship semifinals. The Lions struck first, but the Bronchos evened the score in the bottom of the first. Southern added two more runs, but Central Oklahoma answered, taking the lead and holding on for a 6-4 victory.

The Lions kicked off the offensive, scoring two runs in the first inning. A throwing error by the Bronchos' shortstop allowed
Ethan Clark and
Brayden Luikart to score, placing Southern ahead 2-0. The Bronchos responded in the bottom half with two runs of their own, tying the game at 2-2 after the first inning.
In the third inning, Southern regained the lead.
Nate Mieszkowski singled and eventually scored on a single by
Treghan Parker, pushing the score to 3-2.
Brayden Luikart advanced on a wild pitch after reaching base on a bunt single, eventually scoring in the fifth inning, 4-2.
Central Oklahoma tied the game 4-4 in the sixth inning.
In the eighth inning, the Bronchos took the lead for the 6-4 lead and held it in the remaining innings for the win.
Ethan Clark added two hits and a run.
Brayden Luikart scored two runs, drew a walk, and stole a base.
Treghan Parker contributed two hits, including a double and an RBI. The Lions tallied eight hits.
Cole Gayman pitched 5.0 innings, struck out four batters, and walked none.
Brandon Overman appeared for 0.2 innings, issuing two walks with no hits allowed.
Laif Hultine threw 2.1 innings with four strikeouts.
