Tahlequah, Okla. – The Missouri Southern baseball team faced the Northeastern State RiverHawks in a conference matchup. The Lions jumped out to an early lead in the first inning, but the RiverHawks answered with two runs in the second to take the lead and held on for a 2-1 victory.

The Lions struck first, with
Drew Townsend reaching on a single and later coming around to score on an
Ethan Clark double to right field, giving Southern a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
In the second, the RiverHawks responded with two runs to take a 2-1 advantage.
The score held as Northeastern State claimed a 2-1 victory.
Ethan Clark added a double and an RBI.
Drew Townsend went 2-for-4 with a double, scoring one run while securing a stolen base.
Nate Mieszkowski excelled in the field with four assists and contributed offensively with a double, finishing 1-for-4.
Chayton Beck showcased strong defensive skills as a catcher, recording three assists and successfully throwing out two base stealers. The Lions tallied seven hits.
Casey Stalzer pitched 4.0 innings, striking out one, and faced 18 batters.
Brandon Overman pitched 4.0 innings as well while striking out four and issuing no walks.
