Magnolia, Ark. – The No. 6 Missouri Southern softball team squared off against No. 2 Augustana University in the NCAA Division II Central Region Tournament Championship. After a scoreless deadlock early, the Vikings broke through and maintained their lead to a 4-0 victory. The Lions conclude their season as Central Region runner-up, marking their first appearance in the championship since 1998, when they also finished as runner-up under head coach Pat Lipira.

In the fourth inning, the Vikings broke the stalemate, scoring two runs to take a 2-0 lead.
 
Augustana added two runs in the seventh inning. Southern mounted a comeback attempt in the bottom of the seventh, as 
Kylee Jacks singled and advanced to third, but the game concluded with a 4-0 final score.
 
Kylee Jacks added two hits in three at-bats, adding a stolen base during her performance in center field. 
Maddie Rolfs contributed with a double, recording one hit in three at-bats while playing right field. The Lions had three hits.
 
Kiki Pickens pitched 4.0 innings while striking out two without issuing a walk. 
NaTalia Sewell followed with 2.1 innings, with two strikeouts. 
Avery Tallman closed with a .2 inning and struck out one batter.
