Joplin, Mo. The Missouri Southern baseball team hosts Pittsburg State University Gorillas in a conference matchup. Both teams battled early, with the Lions evening the score in the third inning. The Gorillas reclaimed the lead in the fifth, but Southern found their rhythm in the bottom of the ninth, erupting for five runs and sealing the 12-9 win on a
Treghan Parker walk-off homer.

The Gorillas opened the scoring in the second inning with a 1-0 lead.

In the third inning, Pittsburg State added two runs, 3-0. Southern responded as
Brayden Luikart hit a two-run homer to center field, driving in
Chayton Beck, who had previously doubled.
Jacob Filip followed with a solo homer to left, pushing the Lions ahead 3-1.

The Gorillas added five runs in the sixth inning to lead 8-3. The Lions answered at the bottom of the inning with
Ethan Clark's two-run homer, closing the score to 8-5.

In the eighth inning, Southern offense continued to fight back.
Nate Mieszkowski doubled, setting up a sacrifice fly by
Treghan Parker and an RBI single by
Jake Leeker, bringing the Lions within one run, trailing 9-7.

Pittsburg State plated one run in the ninth inning, 9-5. The Lions found their spark as
Chayton Beck led off with a single, followed by another base hit from
Drew Townsend. Both came around to score on an RBI single by
Ethan Clark, tying the game at 9-9. Later,
Treghan Parker delivered the decisive blow, launching a three-run homer over the right-field fence to lock in the 12-9 victory.

Ethan Clark contributed with three hits, four RBIs, and a home run.
Brayden Luikart hit one home run and drove in two RBIs. The Lions tallied 15 hits.

Caden Carter also pitched 2.0 innings, recording one strikeout.
Michael Moore delivered a clean 1.0 inning of relief, facing three batters and retiring them all via flyouts.
