Joplin, Mo. - The Missouri Southern baseball team hosted the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith Lions in a conference matchup. Southern broke the deadlock in the fourth inning and held strong, shutting out UAFS to secure a 3-0 victory.

Jacob Filip sparked the rally with a double to left center, and
Nate Mieszkowski followed with a walk.
Treghan Parker then crushed a three-run homer to right field, breaking the scoreless tie and putting MSSU ahead 3-0.
The Lions' pitching and defense held strong, securing the shutout victory.
Treghan Parker led the offense with a home run and three RBIs, while
Blake Jones went 2-for-3 with a pair of hits. The Lions totaled seven hits in the game.
On the mound,
Kyle Moore delivered a strong start, pitching 7.0 innings with three strikeouts while facing 26 batters.
Laif Hultine took over in relief, tossing 2.0 hitless, walk-free innings and striking out two to close out the win.
