Hot Springs, Ark. - The Missouri Southern baseball team continued at the Dugan Invitational on Day Two in Hot Springs, Arkansas, on Saturday, February 1. Southern faced off against the Henderson State University Reddies and secured a 7-4 victory.

Keaton Anderson took the mound for the Lions, and Henderson struck first with a leadoff run.
Will Doherty singled to right field and advanced to third on a
Treghan Parker double. Doherty then crossed home plate on a Reddies' wild pitch, tying the game at 1-1.
The Lions' defense held strong, keeping Henderson scoreless in the second inning. In the bottom half,
Brayden Luikart stepped to the plate and drilled a solo home run over the right field fence, giving the Lions a 2-1 lead.
Henderson State added two runs in the third inning, reclaiming a 3-2 lead.
Owen Schneider entered the game in the top of the fifth, retiring the Reddies in order. He faced three batters, recording a strikeout and receiving solid defensive support from Southern.
In the fifth, the Lions'
Brayden Luikart smacked a triple to deep right center, scoring
Treghan Parker and
Will Doherty. Luikart crossed the plate when
Nate Mieszkowski singled to center field, giving Southern a two-run lead, 5-3.
The Lions kept the momentum going into the sixth.
Treghan Parker's sacrifice fly scored
Jacob Filip, who reached on a single up the middle, and a
Cy Darnell single brought in
Ethan Clark, who singled to right. Southern leads, 7-3.
In the seventh, a sacrifice fly brought a run in for the Reddies, trimming the lead to 7-4. The Lions send
Michael Moore to start the eighth, and Henderson goes down in order.
Michael Moore closed the game with a final strikeout, with key outs from
Nate Mieszkowski at second base and
Blake Jones at first base, sealing the 7-4 victory over the Reddies.
Brayden Luikart went 2-for-4 at the plate, driving in three runs with a home run and a triple while scoring twice.
Treghan Parker also went 2-for-4, driving in one run and scoring another with a double.
Will Doherty went 1-for-2, scoring two runs and adding one hit, two walks, and a hit-by-pitch. The Lions combined for nine hits in the game.
Owen Schneider earned the win, striking out three over 10 batters faced.
Keaton Anderson started the game, pitching 4.0 innings and striking out six batters over 19 faced.
Michael Moore closed out the game with 2.0 innings pitched, finishing with a final strikeout to seal the win.

The Lions will continue to day three of the Dugan Invitational on Sunday, February 2, when they take on the Ouachita Baptist University Tiger. First pitch is set for 10:00 AM.
