Joplin, Mo. - The Missouri Southern Softball team (25-10, 5-3 MIAA) is set to host back-to-back conference doubleheaders against the Fort Hays State Tigers and the Nebraska Kearney Lopers at Pat Lipira Softball Complex.

Scouting the Lions
The Missouri Southern softball program is off to a 25-10 (5-3 MIAA) start to their season. Previously, the Lions traveled to Oklahoma for back-to-back conference doubleheaders on the road which resulted in two losses to #3 Rogers State (0-1 and 0-12/5 inn.) and a sweep over Northeastern State (3-2 and 6-4).
Taylor Nuckolls leads the Lions in batting average with a .419, RBIs with 33 and hits with 36. The Lions run leader is
Yazmin Vargas with 34. In the circle,
Kiki Pickens has thrown the most innings with 88.0 and has a 1.91 ERA and has 81 strikeouts.
Scouting the TigersÂ
The Tigers of Fort Hays State have had a 16-12 (2-4 MIAA) start to their season. Currently, the Tigers are on a three game win streak with a conference sweep on the road over Nebraska Kearney (4-1 and 9-2) after previously splitting a doubleheader with Colorado School of Mines at home (3-4 and 7-1).
Peyton Shepard leads the Tigers in batting average with a .417. Donaldson is also the Tigers current hit and run leader with 40 hits and 19 runs. Loren Beggs leads the Tigers in RBIs with 17. In the circle, Savanah Egger has thrown the most innings with 90.2 and has a 1.78 ERA and has 88 strikeouts.
Scouting the Lopers
The Lopers of Nebraska Kearney are off to a 13-16 (1-5 MIAA) start to their season. Recently, the Lopers hosted the Fort Hays State Tigers where they lost both games (1-4 and 2-9). Previous to the Tigers, the Lopers went 1-3 at the Teri Mathis-Zenner MIAA/NSIC Crossover Tournament with two losses to Concordia-St. Paul (6-9 and 2-10/5 inn.) and splitting the series with St. Cloud State (5-6/ 8 inn. And 2-0).
Mary Chvatal leads the Lopers in batting average with a .391. Chvatal is the Lopers current hit and run leader with 34 hits and 27 runs. In the circle, Madeline Janssen has thrown the most innings with 81.0 and has a 3.72 ERA and has 37 strikeouts.
