Topeka, Kan. – The Missouri Southern men's and women's track and field teams picked up three event wins, 10 NCAA Qualifying Marks, an NCAA Automatic Qualifying Mark, set a school record along with two other top-five marks as the Lions competed in the Ichabod Invitational hosted by Washburn.
Ryan Riddle set the school record in the men's mile run for the third-straight week this time with a NCAA Automatic Qualifying time of 4:01.07, finishing in second, but was the highest collegiate finisher.
Gidieon Kimutai running in the men's 3000-meter run finished third with a NCAA Provisional Qualifying time of 8:12.37 as his time is the third best in school history.
Gabe McClain competing in the men's 800-meter run finished third with a time of 1:53.02 and ranks fourth in school history in the event.
Competing in the women's 60-meter hurdles
Claire Luallen and
Precious Olatunji finished first and second and picking up NCAA Provisional Qualifying times of 8.65 and 8.72.
LaNea Wallace picked up the win in the women's 400-meter dash with a time of 57.38.
Cameron Linville won the men's 60-meter dash once again this season this time at 6.76 picking up a NCAA Provisional Qualifying time.
Jasmine Deckard running in the women's 60-meter dash came in second with a NCAA Provisional Qualifying time of 7.64.
Taris Jackson competing in the men's triple jump came in second with a NCAA Provisional Qualifying mark of 14.69m (48' 2.25").
Claire Luallen in the women's long jump came in third with a jump of 5.60m (18' 4.5").
In the women's pole vault
Elena Bisotto and
Jordan Banker finished third and fourth with NCAA Provisional Qualifying marks of 3.77m (12' 4.5") and 3.67m (12' 0.5"). The men's weight throw saw
Peyton Barton and
Josh Fulmer pick up NCAA Provisional Qualifying marks as they finished third and sixth in the event. Barton had a toss of 18.59m (61') while Fulmer's was 18.29m (60').
Jasmine Deckard and
Chardae Overstreet finished the women's 200-meter dash very close to each other finishing third and fourth. Deckard was timed at 25.05, and Overstreet at 25.06.
Jarod Ozee came in fifth in the men's 5000-meter run with a time of 14:43.20. And the women's 4x400-meter relay team of Luallen, Wallace, Olatunji, Overstreet finished in third with a time of 3:54.67.
The men's pole vault had
Dean Howard,
Bryan Candrl and
Mason York finish fourth, fifth and sixth. Howard and Candrl jumped 4.78m (15' 8.25") each with Howard having less misses than Candrl to finish higher and York reached 4.63m (15' 2.25")
The next scheduled meet for the Lions will be at the MIAA Indoor Championship in Topeka, Kan. The men will be looking to repeat as conference champions, while the women finished last year's meet in second.
