Tulsa, Okla. -- The Missouri Southern men's track and field team finished in eighth as a team as the Lions competed at the 2019 Oral Roberts Invite at the Oneok Sports Complex. 

Southern picked up 37 points in the team standings today. Coffeyville CC led the team title and was followed closely by South Dakota State. Pittsburg State was third, followed by Tulsa, Oral Roberts, Southwest Baptist, Kansas, the Lions, Oklahoma Christian and Oklahoma State to round out the team standings. 

Elijah Smith finished 9th in the discus with a distance of 40.20m, while Adrain Broadus and Josh Norville finished 7th and 16th in the long jump. Dean Howard was 8th in the pole vault with a height of 4.56m, while Smith was 15th in the shot put with a distance of 12.31m. 

The Lions will be back in action next weekend as Southern travels to San Angelo, Texas to compete at Angelo State University on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
