Coleman and Benkert, as well as 4x100m relay pick up All-American honors in final day of 2010 Outdoor Championships

Charlotte, NC -- James Coleman (Discus) and Brennan Benkert (1,500m), as well as the Lions' 4x100m relay team picked up All-American honors in the final day of the 2010 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Johnson C. Smith University. 

Coleman placed second in the discus with a heave of 172 feet, four inches. He finished just 11 inches behind the national champion and earned All-American honors for his effort. 

Benkert followed up his school record performance in the prelims and finished fifth in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:47.76 to earn All-American honors, as well. 

The 4x100m relay team ran the exact same school record time of 40.66 they ran in prelims to finish fifth in the finals. Maurlon Bembry, Jordan Patton, Jacob Khan and Andrew Wright all earned All-American honors for the race. 

The Lions finished in 15th place overall as a team with 16 team points. St. Agustines won the National Championship.
