Politte led the Lions in points with 420.5, averaging 3.69 per set... Set a season high 21 kills twice in matches against Fort Hays State and Northwest Missouri... Recorded seven blocks twice against Lindenwood (seven assisted) and Fort Hays State (two solo, five assisted)... Named Second Team All-MIAA, MIAA Academic Honor Roll, MIAA Scholar Athlete.
2013 - Started in 24 of the 30 matches last season, playing in 91 sets...led the Lions in kills (304), kills per set (3.34), and fourth in aces (21)...the 3.34 kills per set was sixth in the MIAA...earned All-MIAA honrable mention...recorded season highs in kills (26) and points (30) vs. Southeastern Oklahoma on Oct. 11...tallied 22 digs vs. Ouachita Baptist in Pittsburg, Kan. on Sept. 6...recorded four blocks three times, vs. Northwest Missouri (Sept. 21), at Drury (Sept. 25), and vs. Southeastern Oklahoma (Oct. 11).
2012 - Started all 30 matches and playing in all 100 sets as a sophomore, Politte earned All-MIAA honorable mention for the Lions while leading Southern in kills, attacks and service aces while finishing second on the team in digs...finished with a team-high 270 kills, including 12 double-digit kill games, Politte recorded a season-high 21 kills against Henderson State...finished with 243 digs on the year, including a season-high 15 against Fort Hays State, while leading the team in attacks with 992...led the Lions in serving percentage at .932, while recording 18 service aces on the year...finished fourth on the team in blocks with 44.
2011 - Played in 27 matches on the season while starting 16 for the Lions...recorded 220 kills to go along with 101 digs...Katie was third on the team in blocks with 43 total and second in solo blocks with eight.
Prior to Southern - Politte started for three years for coaches Mike Tyree and John Nieder at St. Francis Borgia High School ...In her senior season, Politte led the Knights with 211 kills, but was injured half way through her campaign with season-ending knee surgery ... Her team won their district and sectionals and placed second at the state tournament ... In her junior season, Politte was second on the team with 276 kills and had a .472 attack average ... She led the Knights with 116 blocks (38 solo, 78 assisted), while adding 49 aces ... She was a first-team All-District, All-Region, and All-State pick.
Personal - A health promotion and business major at Southern, Politte is the daughter of John and Kay Politte.
