Prior To Southern
Johanson prepped at Union High School, where she competed in cross country and track & field for the Wildcats. She earned All-Conference honors in cross country all four years and was a three-time All-Conference selection in track & field. Johanson was a three-time All-State performer in cross country and earned All-State honors in track & field once. She also received Academic All-Conference recognition four times in cross country and three times in track & field, while earning Academic All-State honors three times in cross country and once in track & field. Johanson was named Mercy Athlete of the Month and earned All-Metro Girls Cross Country Second Team honors. She helped Union qualify for the 2024 state cross country meet and posted personal bests of 18:13 in the 5K, 10:48 in the two-mile, and 5:03 in the mile.

Viola, the daughter of Mark and Angela Johanson, is pursuing a degree in Biochemistry with minors in Biology and Mathematics at Southern.
