2014 - Hayes appeard in all 11 games as a return specialist... Hayes averaged 19.4 per kick return attempt, totalling 369 kick return yards on 19 attempts and a season long of 41 yards... Returned 16 punts for 211 yards, averaging 13.2 yards per return... In the season opener against Emporia State, Hayes carried the ball three times for 18 yards... Named Second Team All-MIAA.

2013 - Appeared in five games at quaterback as a junior attempting 10 carries for 40 yards and a touchdown...Recorded a season-high five carries for 25 yards with a touchdown at eventual Division II National Champion Northwest Missouri...Also totaled two carries in wins over Lincoln and Lindenwood-Belleville.

Prior to Southern - Hayes comes to Southern after a year at Independence Community College in Kansas where he was an All-Conference pick ... That season, he rushed for 457 yards, while completing 63 passes for 685yards and four touchdowns through the air and two on the ground ... Hayes played high school football at Dillon High School for coach Jackie Hayes ... He was an All-State, All-Region and conference Co-Player of the Year ... He won two state championships titles in 2008-2009, while breaking school records for most TD passes (32) and passing yards.  (2,209).
