2012 - Playing in all 11 games for the Lions asa junior, Varol started the final six games of the year atdefensive end where he finished the year with 11 tackles, foursolo, one tackle for a loss, two quarterback hurries and a passbreak-up. Had a career-high three tackles against NorthwestMissouri while recording a tackle for loss in the Lions homeopening win over Northeastern State. Made three PAT's in theLions homecoming win over South Dakota School of Mines.

Prior to Southern - Varol transfers to Southernafter two years at Division I Liberty University ... As asophomore, Varol was the Big South Defensive Player of the Week inweek one after recording seven tackles against NC State includingthree for a loss and one sack ... Finished the season with 27tackles and helped lead the Liberty defense which ranked 31st inthe NCAA in scoring defense and finish 32nd in the country in redzone defense and 38th in total defense ... as a freshman, he was amember of the Big South Presidential Honor Roll … sawplaying time in five games … helped the Flames finish theseason ranked No. 20 nationally in rushing defense … alsoled the Big South and ranked No. 17 in the country in total defense(309.18 yards allowed per game) and No. 24 in scoring defense(20.81 points per allowed game) ... He redshirted in 2009.
