2017 - Saw action in ten games while starting eight of them at tight end...led the team in receptions (29) with and finished second in receiving yards (359)...his three touchdown catches tied him for the most on the squad...had a season-high six receptions against Nebraska-Kearney (9/30) and a best 75 yards on four catches at home versus Emporia State (9/16). 


2016 - One of the top threats in the receiving corps for the Lions ... ranked in the top ten nationally in yards per catch ... finished the year with ten games played and three starts ... caught 20 passes for 470 yards and 23.5 per catch ... had a team-high five touchdown receptions. 

Prior to Southern - Bennett prepped at Odessa High School for coach Mark Thomas ... an Honorable mention All-State pick at tight end ... Bennett was also a first-team All-District pick, as well as being named to the KMZU Dream Team ... A two-sport athlete at Odessa, he also was a first-team All-Conference and All-District pick on the hardwood as a basketball player for the Bulldogs, while also playing first base on the baseball diamond.

Personal - Bennett is the son of Roxy and Mike Bennett and he plans on majoring in education at Southern.
