Biography

Prior to Southern - was a three sport athlete for the Warriors of Lamar (Ark.) HS...earned first team All-Conference honors both his junior and senior seasons while running for 1,300 yards and helping the Warriors to four straight Arkansas Activities Association (AAA) Class 3A playoff appearances...was a five-time AAA qualifier in track and field running in the 100m, 200m, 4x100 relay, 4x200 relay, triple jump, and pole vault...hit a personal best of 11 feet in the pole vault...also played centerfield, left field, pitcher, and second base on the diamond for the Warriors...was also ranked the #1 fighter in sparring in Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma in karate.

Personal - son of Brian Hency and Katie Hency...plans to major in biology (pre-med) at Southern.
