2010 - McDonald had the best QB rating on the squad last season. He attempted and completed one pass  to Ne’Ronte Threat for a 21-yard touchdown against Fort Hays State in MSSU’s 41-31 victory.

2009 – Saw action in one game, serving as the back up for the Lions against Northwest Missouri.

In 2008: Redshirted.

In High School: Lettered two years at quarterback for coach Patton and the Bulldogs of Fayetteville High School in Fayetteville, Ark.  During his senior season, McDonald threw for 34 touchdown passes, 3,929 yards, while connecting on 261-406 passes and leading the Bulldogs to a state championship ... He had 451 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns, while being named an All-State selection, as well as a member of the KURM Dream Team ... was the Red Zone Arkansas Player of the Year ... holds the school record for touchdowns in a season (34), single season passing yards (3,929), single season completions (261), as well as total offense and 40 total touchdowns.
