Prior to Southern - Montee played for coach Bill Harrelson at Gravette High School where he was a first team All-Area and All-State punter and was rated the No. 6 combo kicker in the nation by prokicker.com … As a senior, Montee had 80 percent of his kickoffs result in touchbacks, an average of 64 yards per kick … he also was 9-13 on field goals with a long of 52 yards and averaged 41 yards per punt … amazingly, his punts resulted in only 67 punt return yards in each of his junior and senior seasons … Also an All-Conference basketball player, Montee averaged 17 points per game in his junior season.
