Devin Freeman prepped at Ladue Horton Watkins High School in St. Louis, Missouri, where he competed in baseball and basketball. On the baseball diamond, Freeman played outfield under head coach Rob Garret, finishing his career with a .365 batting average, 70 hits and four home runs. He earned Honorable Mention All-Conference honors as a sophomore before earning First Team All-Conference recognition as a junior and senior. Freeman also competed in basketball as a forward under head coach Joseph Cleveland.
