Prior to Southern
Thompson joins Southern after playing the 2021-22 season at Southeastern Missouri (SEMO) under the direction of coach Sam McMahon. He played in 22 games with eight starts as a forward, averaging 4.5 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 14 blocks while shooting 55.3% from the field. At Francis Howell High School, Thompson averaged 18.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game as a senior, earning All-Metro and Class 6 All-State honors. As a junior, he averaged 7.9 points and 5.4 rebounds. Thompson set a Francis Howell record with 55 points against O'Fallon Christian on Dec. 28, 2020, the most by an area player since 2018. He helped lead the team to three district championships and four conference titles, with a combined record of 100-15 and 40-0 in conference play.
