2010 - Sumpter entered the 2010 season as the Lions’ starter at running back. He looked like he was poised for a special season after gashing MSU-Moorhead for 141 yards and two scores on just 14 carries, but an injury cut his year short. Sumpter finished with 355 yards rushing in five games. He scored four touchdowns on the year. 

In 2009: Was injured in the second game of the season last year and received a medical redshirt.

In High School: Sumpter played for coach Bruce Gowen at Santa Fe High School in Edmond, Okla. ... Both a defensive back and a running back, Sumpter was ranked the No. 34 player in the state of Oklahoma by Rivals.com and was a top 100 pick among safties nationwide by ESPN ... As a senior, Sumpter split time in the back field and as a slot receiver, rushing for 739 yards on 87 carries for 14 touchdowns, while catching 15 passes for 234 yards and three scores ... on defense, he had 82 tackles, including 19 for a loss, two sacks, five interceptions, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and one touchdown on defense ... he was an All-District, All-Metro and All-Conference selection and set the Santa Fe HS single game record for touchdowns with five ... As a junior Sumpter rushed for 687 yards and eight touchdowns, while catching 13 passes for 172 yards and a score ... he also recorded 39 tackles and two interceptions.
