JOPLIN, Mo. — Missouri Southern golf student-athlete Owen Derryberry was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday.

Derryberry was featured on the 2025-26 CSC Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team. The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom.

Derryberry, a sophomore from Carthage, Missouri, has a 3.95 GPA as a Finance major at MSSU.
 
Over the 2025-26 season, Derryberry competed in five events, averaging a score of 76.1 over 15 rounds. He had two top-50 finishes over the campaign.
 
He shot a season-best +5 at NSU Men's Golf Classic for 55th.
 
Derryberry also took 46th at MSSU's Fall Invitational, shooting +14.
 
At the 2026 MIAA Men's Golf Championship, Derryberry finished 50th with a +20.

The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes men's at-large honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs.
