KANSAS CITY, Mo. – No. 4-ranked Missouri Southern's
Emily Davis was named the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Softball Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Davis went 2-0 over her two starts this past week, tallying a 0.60 ERA with 11 strikeouts over 11.2 innings.
The freshman from Buckeye, Arizona, pitched 4.2 innings in the Lions' 4-1 win over St. Cloud, allowing just one earned run on six hits with six strikeouts.
Davis then closed out the week with a complete-game shutout with her lone blemish being a hit and a walk while striking out five in the 1-0 win over Sioux Falls.
Davis is 9-1 in 2026 with four complete games and three shutouts.
The MIAA weekly honor is the second for Davis in her career at Missouri Southern. She was previously tabbed MIAA Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 2.
MSSU next travels to commence MIAA play, opening the weekend Friday with a doubleheader against Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas, before heading to Kearney, Nebraska on Saturday for another doubleheader against University of Nebraska–Kearney.
