JOPLIN, Mo. – Missouri Southern Athletics kicks off the week with the Men's Golf team on the road in Oklahoma before a busy stretch of action across multiple sports. 
 
Soccer gets things started at home midweek before hitting the road, while Volleyball travels south for a weekend tournament. 
 
Cross Country hosts the always-competitive MSSU Southern Stampede on Saturday morning, and Football caps the week with a home showdown against Northwest Missouri State at Fred G. Hughes Stadium. This matchup will also serve as a tribute to former head coach John Ware, honoring his legacy and lasting impact on Missouri Southern football.
 
MSSU Athletics will be at Third Thursday in Downtown Joplin from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
 
Lastly, MSSU will host its second Lion Pride Luncheon on Friday, featuring football and cross country. 

Head football coach Atiba Bradley, redshirt senior offensive lineman Alex Curry and redshirt junior linebacker Hayden Sink spoke with the media on Monday, Sept. 15, 2025, ahead of MSSU's MIAA opener against Northwest Missouri State University. That press conference presented by Moe's Southwest Grill can be viewed online. The Lions will face NMSU Saturday, Sept. 20 at Fred G. Hughes Stadium for their John Ware Remembrance Game. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m., CT.
