Track and Field Competes at the Bearcat Invite

Maryville, Mo. – The Missouri Southern women's and men's Indoor Track & Field teams traveled to the Bearcat Invite in Maryville, MO for a two-day meet on the campus of Northwest Missouri State University. The Lions took home a new school record from Joy Udo-Gabriel in the 60m dash and 13 NCAA Qualifying Marks.
 
Friday, February 7th
Women's Pentathlon
Maggie Kauk takes 1st place in the women's pentathlon with an overall score of 3205. She placed 1st in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.22s, 3rd in the high jump with a mark of 1.43m, 1st in the shot put with a personal best mark of 10.58m, 2nd in the long jump with a mark of 5.31m and 3rd in the 800m with a time of 2:39.07. Claire Cole placed 3rd with an overall score of 3070. She placed 3rd in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.78s, 1st in the high jump with a mark of 1.52m, 3rd in the shot put with a personal best mark of 8.82m, 3rd in the long jump with a mark of 4.99m and 1st in the 800m with a time of 2:32.42.
Women's 5000m
Lilah Genel placed 2nd in the women's 5000m with a time of 17:55.35 followed by Hailey Nelson in 6th with a personal best time of 18:12.73. Zoe Nelson placed 9th with a personal best time of 18:28.85 followed closely by Isabella Frost in 10th with a time of 18:29.40.
Women's Pole Vault
Emma Hobbs placed 3rd in the women's pole vault with a mark of 3.36m, followed by Katie Candrl in 16th with a mark of 3.21m.
 
Saturday, February 8th
Women's 60m Hurdles
Aryah Moore takes 3rd place in the women's 60m hurdles with a time of 8.84 seconds qualifying for the finals. In the finals, she takes 2nd place with a personal best and NCAA Qualifying Time of 8.76 seconds.
Men's 60m Hurdles
JaDarius Pigg places 3rd in the men's 60m hurdles with an NCAA Qualifying Time of 8.13sec qualifying for finals. In the finals, he placed 2nd with the same NCAA Qualifying Time of 8.13 seconds.
Women's 60m Dash
Joy Udo-Gabriel takes 1st place in the women's 60m dash breaking the MSSU school record and Bearcat Invite record and takes over the 7th spot in DII with an NCAA Qualifying Time of 7.40 seconds. In the finals, she placed 3rd with an NCAA Qualifying Time of 7.45 seconds.
Men's 60m Dash
Cody Grant takes 22nd place in the men's 60m dash with a time of 7.02 seconds.
Women's Mile
Kyla Weems takes 11th in the women's mile with a time of 5:13.67.
Men's Mile
Kade Cole takes 2nd place in the men's mile with a personal best time of 4:13.56 followed closely by Chase Sorrell in 5th with a time of 4:15.21 and Geordan Patrylak takes 25th with a time of 4:27.40.
Women's 400m
Morgan Pork takes 5th in the women's 400m with a time of 58.18 seconds.
Men's 400m
Sebastian Cooper takes 5th in the men's 400m with a personal best time of 48.62 seconds.
Men's 800m
Kaden Cole takes 17th in the men's 800m with a personal best time of 1:54.68 followed by Chase Sorrell in 20th with a personal best time of 1:54.83.
Women's 200m
Morgan Pork takes 3rd in the women's 200m dash with a time of 25.45 seconds.
Women's 200m INVITE
Joy Udo-Gabriel takes 6th in the women's 200m dash invite with a personal best time of 25.16 seconds.
Men's 200m
Cody Grant placed 31st in the men's 200m dash with a NCAA Qualifying Time of 22.62 seconds.
Men's 200m INVITE
Nurain Musa breaks the MSSU school record in the 200m dash and takes 1st place with an NCAA Qualifying Time of 21.22 seconds. Musa's personal best time now ranks at #9 in DII.
Women's 3000m
Jenari Lopez takes 2nd place in the women's 3000m with a personal best time of 9:57.13 followed closely by Jayna Gunter in 3rd place with a time of 10:20.01 and Ava Power takes 17th with a time of 11:04.95.
Men's 3000m
Ryan Riddle takes 1st place in the men's 3000m with a new Bearcat Invite record and NCAA Qualifying Time of 8:06.81.
Women's High Jump
Coryn Fair takes 2nd place with an NCAA Qualifying Mark of 1.68m.
Women's Weight Throw
Briar Gillum takes 6th place in the women's weight throw with an NCAA Qualifying Mark of 18.02m followed closely by Dailynn VanDeren in 7th with an NCAA Qualifying Mark of 18.01m.
Men's Weight Throw
Tyson Williams takes 4th place in the men's weight throw with mark of 17.51m.
Women's Long Jump
Gabrielle McPherson takes 10th in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.30m.
Women's Shot Put
Briar Gillum takes 2nd place in the women's shot put with an NCAA Qualifying Mark of 15.05m followed by Kirsten Womack in 7th place with a mark of 13.39m and Dailynn VanDeren in 8th with a mark of 13.26m.
Men's Shot Put
Jamale Williams takes 2nd place in the men's shot put with a personal best and NCAA Qualifying Mark of 17.24m.
Women's Triple Jump
Lillian Hart takes 6th place in the women's triple jump with a mark of 10.95m.

The Lions are back in action this upcoming Friday, February 14 at the Russ Jewett Gorilla Classic in Pittsburg, Kan. on the campus of Pittsburg State University.
