Joplin, Mo. – The Missouri Southern Women's Basketball team hosted the University of Central Missouri Jennies. Southern controlled the game from the start, shutting down the Jennies to secure a 78-59 victory.
Kaitlin Hunnicutt made history in the win, breaking Danielle DeVader's (2005-09) program record of 196 Made Three-Pointers. She now leads the record books with 199 made threes.

Quarter 1:
Missouri Southern began the first quarter with a strong offensive effort, with
Ryan Franklin scoring the first eight points, 8-0. The Lions extended their lead to 10-0 by 6:59. The Jennies answered with a 3-pointer with 6:36 on the clock, closing their deficit to seven points, 10-3.
Grace Frazier responded with a 3-pointer at 6:21. Central Missouri narrowed the gap to three points with a 3-pointer with 4:40 remaining.
Kennady Roach hit a fast-break 3-pointer with 2:16 remaining, and Southern maintained an 18-15 lead at the end of the quarter.
Quarter 2:
Kaitlin Hunnicutt shattered the MSSU Made 3-Pointer record with 9:53 on the clock, contributing to an 8-2 run that included a fast-break layup at 8:46. The Jennies responded with a 3-pointer with 5:57 remaining, working to close their gap.
Mackenzie Hart's jumper at the buzzer ensured the Lions maintained their lead into halftime, 36-32.
Quarter 3:
Ryan Franklin opened the third quarter by making a layup at 9:35, followed by
Reese Webb's tip-in with 8:50 remaining, contributing to a 6-0 run. The Lions solidified their advantage with
Kennady Roach's 3-pointer and
Kaitlin Hunnicutt's 3-pointer, building a 10-point lead. Central Missouri responded with baskets, but Southern maintained control with strong defense and rebounding, including Franklin's pair of free throws in the final seconds to end the quarter with a score of 59-44.
Quarter 4:
The Lions maintained a consistent offensive rhythm, highlighted by
Grace Frazier's layup at 7:04, followed by a free throw to extend their lead to 64-51. Central Missouri responded with a three-pointer at 9:20 and a pair of free throws at 7:23 to narrow the gap. Missouri Southern countered with key plays, including a jumper from
Ryan Franklin at 7:43 and a crucial three-pointer by
Kaitlin Hunnicutt at 6:10, strengthening their lead. Despite Central Missouri's push, Southern remained steady and secured the 78-59 victory.
