Lions Open Indoor Season Friday at Boo Rogers & Crimson and Gold Invitational

PITTSBURG, Kan. – Alaina Norman and Abbey Brackenbury led Missouri Southern women's track & field as the Lions opened their 2025-26 indoor campaign at Pittsburg State's Boo Rogers Combined Events, and Crimson and Gold Invitational Friday at Robert W. Plaster Center.
 
Norman paced the MSSU women in the Boo Rogers Combined Events pentathlon, totaling 3,230 points for third overall. She took first in the shot put with a throw of 12.09 meters and took second in high jump (1.55 meters).
 
Maggie Kauk followed in fourth in the pentathlon, achieving a point total of 3,195. She took second in the 60-meter hurdles (9.21), high jump (1.55 meters) and shot put (11.25 meters).
 
Claire Cole rounded out the Lions in the pentathlon, taking sixth with 3,080 points. She was the runner-up in the high jump, surpassing a height of 1.55 meters. Cole was also fourth in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.59.
 
Brackenbury and Kyla Weems closed out the opening day of the Crimson and Gold Invitational, taking fourth and sixth, respectively in the 5,000 meters with a pair of personal bests. Brackenbury crossed the finish line in 17:27.57 followed by Weems at 17:30.56.
 
MSSU wraps the Crimson and Gold Invitational Saturday. Running events start at 11:30 a.m., CT followed by field events at noon.
