KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Missouri Southern's
Jaden Taylor was named the MIAA (Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association) Basketball Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Taylor averaged 28.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists across two starts while shooting nearly 49 percent from the floor as Missouri Southern men's basketball opened the 2025-26 campaign 2-0. The senior guard landed 17-of-35 for 48.6 percent shooting from the field, and 21-of-27 (77.8 percent) from the free-throw line.
Taylor, a Memphis, Tennessee, native, posted a career-best 31 points, 7 boards and three assists in MSSU's 80-70 victory over Arkansas Tech on Nov. 14. He shot 80 percent from the charity stripe.
Taylor then added 25 points and three rebounds in the win over Southwestern Oklahoma on Nov. 15. He shot 50 percent from the field.
The weekly laurel marks the first in Taylor's career at MSSU.
