JOPLIN, Mo. — Brayden Williams of Missouri Southern men's basketball was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the association announced Tuesday.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Williams, a junior from Owatonna, Minnesota, is studying finance at Missouri Southern and currently has a 3.51 GPA.
Williams appeared in all 31 games this season, his first as a Lion. He made 16 starts and averaged 5.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steals over 23.3 minutes. Williams shot 37 percent from the field including 33 percent on triples.
He notched a season-high 18 points at Northeastern State (Dec. 21), shooting 5-for-8 from the field and 3-for-4 from distance. He was also 5-for-6 at the charity stripe to go with three steals, a board and an assist.
Williams also notched eight 10-point games in 2025-26.
With 177 points in 2025-26, he surpassed 600 career points (639).
