Joplin, Mo. – The Missouri Southern Football team hosted the Northwest Missouri State University Bearcats. The Lions were defeated by the Bearcats, 59-0 and move to 0-4 on the season and 0-3 in the MIAA.

Quarter 1: Missouri Southern 0 | Northwest Missouri 21
The Lions' defense came out strong with
Peyton McKee and
Diego Oliver making an early impact, combining for seven tackles.
Draper Parker also contributed on special teams, racking up 45 return yards with a 22.5-yard average. Parker would also connect a 13-yard reception from
Luke Sampson.
Quarter 2: Missouri Southern 0 | Northwest Missouri 10
Missouri Southern defense would pressure Northwest for a fumble,
Jermaine Young Jr. would recover to start a Lions drive.
Brian Lively would have a critical sack for lost pushing Northwest back 6-yards. At the 7-minute mark the Bearcats would be halted on a key tackle from
Peyton McKee pushing Northwest back five yards. The Lions
Luke Sampson would connect a 26-yard pass to
Alex Martini heading into halftime.
Quarter 3: Missouri Southern 0 | Northwest Missouri 14
The Lions would open the half with a Jake Weber 30-yard kick return. Missouri Southern's defense, spearheaded by
Colton Bass for three tackles continued to fight against the Northwest offense and would push two solo tackles to halt the Bearcats drive.

On the Bearcats' opening drive, the Lions'
Colton Bass recorded four tackles to stall the offense.
Luke Sampson then found
Draper Parker on a 17-yard connection. On the very next play,
LaRandion Dowden powered up the middle for another 17-yards, continuing the momentum. The Lions would be stopped by the Bearcats.
