Kirksville, Mo. - The Missouri Southern women's soccer team (0-1-1) traveled to Kirksville, Missouri to take on the Bulldogs of Truman State (1-1-0) on Thursday, September 12. Despite seven shots on goal for both teams, a 0-0 final score ended the game in a draw.
First Half
Nathalia Luiz and
Lizeth Almaraz both had a shot on goal in the first 20 minutes for the Lions, but were saved by the Bulldogs goalkeeper. Defensively, the Lions only allowed three shots on goal of the six shots taken in the first half by the Bulldogs. All three shots on goal for the Bulldogs were saved by Lions goalkeeper
Bella Smith, keeping the match scoreless after 45 minutes of play.
Second Half
The Lions opened the second half with another early shot on goal in the 49th minute from
Presley Whitmire. The Lions defense was on point the begin the half, not allowing a single shot from the Bulldogs. Both teams would have four shots on goal in the second half, neither finding the back of the net, to end ithe match in a 0-0 deadlock.
