Bolivar, Mo. - The Missouri Southern track & field teams wrapped up their busy week with a full day at the SBU Bearcat Invitational on Saturday. On Thursday, the team sent throws and men's high jump to the ESU Relays, and the distance team competed at the WashU Distance Carnival Friday evening. Results from those events can be found in the story links section.
At the SBU Bearcat Invitational, the men's team placed 3rd behind Pittsburg State and Washburn, and the women's team finished 5th.
The next meet on the schedule for Missouri Southern is the 16th Annual David Suenram Gorilla Classic, hosted by Pittsburg State. Field events are scheduled to start at 11:00am, and the first track event will begin at 1:30pm.

- JaDarius Pigg set a school record with an NCAA qualifying time of 13.94sec, placing 2nd at the meet. Malachi Pipkin also broke his old school record with an NCAA qualifying time, but finished just shy of the new record at 13.95sec for 3rd place.
100m Dash
- DeKedrick Washington finished 10th overall with a time of 10.94sec. Cole Barker was next for Southern, taking 21st with a time of 11.27sec. Peyton McBride and Jon Watts finished just milliseconds behind each other at 11.43sec and 11.46sec, good for 28th and 30th. Caleb Manning and Taris Jackson went back-to-back at 43rd and 44th, running times of 11.76sec and 11.78sec. Devin Greene wrapped things up with a time of 12.11sec for 46th place.
- Gabrielle McPherson was the first Lion to complete the race, taking 11th with a time of 12.43sec. Emma Hobbs was next, running a time of 12.90sec for 21st place. Abby Hobbs and Katie Candrl went back-to-back at 29th and 30th, finishing with times of 13.28sec and 13.33sec. Sidney Batten rounded things out for Southern at 40th place, running the race in 14.39sec.

- Miguel Solano brought home a 6th place finish, running the race in 1:53.92.

- Hailey Nelson ran the race in 10:57.56 which placed her 10th in the race, and Zoe Nelson took 13th with a time of 11:07.11.
- Zaben Barnes placed 11th after running the race in 9:21.99, and Evan Matlock finished a couple spots behind at 13th with a time of 9:28.78.
Discus
- Kirsten Womack won the event with an NCAA qualifying throw of 47.80m. That distance bumps her to 6th on the MSSU top-10 list. Briar Gillum took 4th in the event, throwing an NCAA qualifying distance of 45.55m, 8th on the MSSU top-10 list. Aubrey Skinner threw a distance of 40.69m for 8th place, and Mallory Huber placed 11th with a mark of 39.78m.
- Peyton Barton took 2nd on Saturday, recording an NCAA qualifying throw of 53.19m. Gabe Ford placed 5th with a toss of 50.01m.
Hammer Throw
- Mona Keita tossed a distance of 38.17m, placing her 10th in the event.
High Jump
- Luke Brumit tied for 2nd in the event, clearing a height of 1.99m on his first attempt. Brendan Jewell placed 6th at the meet, jumping a height of 1.99m as well, clearing it on his second attempt.
- Rylee Darnell took 17th and Lillian Hart placed 19th, both clearing heights of 1.49m, but Darnell did so on her first attempt. Claire Cole jumped a height of 1.44m, good for 21st place.

- Mona Keita took 5th in the event, recording a throw of 12.37m.
Triple Jump
- Lillian Hart jumped a distance of 11.13m, placing her 7th in the event.
- Caleb Manning was just shy of an NCAA qualifying mark, recording a jump of 14.68m for 4th place. That mark puts him 9th on the MSSU outdoor top-10 list. Taris Jackson was right behind, taking 5th with a jump of 14.67m.
